Irenicon’s FREE live KoffeeKlatch teleseminars are designed so you can sit down, dial in and talk about key issues that affect you or your business.

You will be spending an hour talking to an experienced expert working through what you and other delegates on the seminar want to know. It is not a pre-programmed webinar but a conversation designed to discuss your questions. There will be a plan for the conversation but it does not have to go in one particular direction.

We strongly urge you to register and spend a little time before the seminar thinking about what you might want to know. Once you have registered you will receive a link to register your questions.

Join us – all you need is a phone and somewhere quiet to be.

To successfully join our events, you must register no later than half an hour before the event. No recordings are circulated to non attendees.

Social Media & Recruitment Seminar - 19 July 2012 @ 11am

  • Do you ‘Google’ potential recruitment candidates?
  • Do you ask for social media passwords to check them out?
  • Is it OK to research them on Linked-in but not on Facebook?
  • What are the legal issues if you start doing this?

Social media can be a legal minefield for recruiters.

Managing Volunteers seminar – 20 June 2013 @ 2pm

Volunteers are part of many business models – from social enterprise and charities to start ups we all need a little help from time to time.

  • What rights and responsibilities do volunteers have?
  • Can you pay volunteers?

It is just as important to have agreements for volunteers as for any other person who helps.

Simply calling someone a volunteer doesn’t make them one.  How do you know when you have crossed the line?  When does the tax man get interested?

What if your volunteers get active on social media – who owns your pages and your brand?

Designed to go with our FREE volunteer agreement this practical discussion is about setting appropriate boundaries and expectations

Freelance Workers Seminar – 27 June 2013 @ 2pm

Managing freelance or self employed workers and their rights

Self employed contractors and freelance workers have a range of rights under employment law.  If you don’t know what they are and how to manage them you can be in for a surprise - they may not be freelance workers at all but employees.

Even if your freelance workers are not your employee you still need to create the right contractual relationship to make sure you get what you are paying for whilst understanding what their legal rights are.  And you need to keep on the right side of the tax man.

Talk to us about how to contract in the right way to have a relationship that gives you the rights you may simply be imagining you have at the moment.

“Thank you Annabel and Christopher for a very informative and easy to understand teleseminar on managing freelance workers. A must for anybody considering using the services of freelancers in their business.”

Annabel Kaye you are a star! Thank you for a brilliant teleseminar yesterday about Freelance Workers , thoroughly enjoyed the session and it really opened my eyes as to how important it is to have proper agreements in place from the get go.   If anyone can make employment and contract law entertaining it’s definitely you!
Cheryl Penry

“The seminar was very interesting and brought up many things I hadn’t even considered when putting together a Freelance Agreement and discerning between what could be considered employed/self-employed status. It was great to have Annabel’s legal insight which has probably saved me a great deal of time and trouble.”
Sian ……………………, Company Director

“I’ve just been on a fantastic ‘Freelance Workers and Agreements’ Teleseminar with AnnabelKaye. – Highly recommended”

All About Leave – 9 July 2013 @ 2pm

Demand for annual leave peaks around school holidays.

How are you going to manage it all?  Many people will want annual leave.  Parents will want leave during school holidays – should they get priority treatment?   Do you know how to handle part timers’ annual leave entitlement?  Do you know how to calculate statutory minimum leave entitlement?  Can you calculate  SSP during annual leave?

What if:

  • some people get sick?
  • their kids get sick?
  • they come back late?
  • everyone wants leave at the same time?

There are lots of beliefs around who has which rights around annual leave – but suprisingly few of them are accurate.  Join our conversation and get it all sorted out before the school holidays begin.
